GENERAL INFORMATION
DESCRIPTION
The VALOX family of thermoplastic polyester resins are semi-crystalline materials based on polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and/or polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymers. VALOX resin formulations include many performance-matched grades designed to provide application-specific property profiles. VALOX resins combine heat and chemical resistance, as well as outstanding electrical properties with exceptionally good processability and surface appearance.

Available in a broad range of both filled and unfilled grades, with specified UL and other agency compliance ratings. Healthcare grades meet food contact and medical regulatory specifications.
FLAME RETARDANCY
Flame retardant grades offer a UL94 5VA rating and a glow wire test (GWT) pass at 960 °C
GOOD TEMPERATURE PERFORMANCE
Relative temperature index (RTI) up to 284 °F (140 °C), yet provide good low temperature performance to -40°F (-40°C)
VERY GOOD PROCESSABILITY
High flow in thin sections, offering excellent surface finish

This is a good candidate for thin wall applications in the electrical industry including bobbins, keyboards, switches and appliance housings.

VALOX 364 is an unreinforced, impact modified flame retardant Polybutylene Terephthalate/Polycarbonate (PBT/PC) injection moldable flame grade. VALOX 3706 is an unreinforced impact modified flame retardant Polybutylene Terephthalate/Polycarbonate (PBT/PC) injection moldable grade. It has excellent chemical resistance and a [email protected] and [email protected] flame rating. This is a good candidate for outdoor enclosures.

VALOX 457 Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) resin is a 6.5% glass fiber reinforced, injection moldable grade. This brominated flame retardant PBT has a UL V0 and 5VA rating . VALOX 457 resin is a general purpose resin that is an excellent candidate for a wide variety of electrical component applications.

VALOX 771 is a 35% mineral/glass filled, flame retardant Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) injection moldable grade. It has excellent chemical resistance and a [email protected] flame rating and [email protected]. This grade also has a CTI of 0 and is a good candidate for applications that may see electrical arcing.

VALOX 780 Polybutylene Terephthalate/Polyethylene Terephthalate (PBT/PET) resin is mineral and glass fiber reinforced , reduced blooming effect, injection moldable grade. This brominated flame retardant PBT/PET has a UL V0 rating . VALOX 780 resin is a general purpose resin that is an excellent candidate for a wide variety of applications including circuit and motor coil housings.

VALOX 855 is a 15% glass filled, flame retardant Polybutylene Terephthalate/Polyethylene Terephthalate (PBT/PET) injection moldable grade. It has excellent chemical resistance and a [email protected] flame rating. With its improved aesthetics compared to standard PBT, it is an excellent candidate for a wide variety of applications including steam irons, appliance components, and lighting parts.

VALOX DR48 is a 17% glass filled, flame retardant Polybutyleneterephthalate (PBT) injection moldable grade with excellent chemical resistance. It has a [email protected] and [email protected] flame rating. This is a good candidate for a variety of applications in the electrical industry including connectors, bobbins, and switches.

VALOX V3504 is an unreinforced, flame retardant Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) injection moldable grade with excellent chemical resistance. VALOX V3900WX is an unreinforced, UV stabilized, weatherable, impact modified flame retardant Polybutylene Terephthalate/Polycarbonate (PBT) injection moldable grade. It has excellent chemical resistance and a [email protected] and [email protected] flame rating. This is an excellent candidate for a wide variety of applications including outdoor enclosures requiring UL746C F1 weatherability performance.
