PBT DuPont Crastin ST830FRUV is an unreinforced, UV-resistant, super-tough flame retardant grade of PBT.
Common properties of Crastin thermoplastic polyesters include good mechanical and physical properties such as rigidity and toughness, heat resistance, friction and abrasion resistance, excellent surface properties and good coloring properties.
Crastin thermoplastic polyester has excellent electrical insulating properties and can be prepared in high arc resistant grades. Many flame retardant grades are UL listed (V-0).
Crastin thermoplastic polyesters generally have high resistance to chemical and heat aging. The good heat stability properties of Crastin thermoplastic polyesters often enable the recycling of properly handled production waste.
Crastin thermoplastic polyesters are commonly used in demanding electrical and electronic, automotive, mechanical engineering, chemical, household electrical and sports equipment sectors.
Crastin polyethylene terephthalate is suitable for industrial applications
Crastin PBT resins are available in over 100 grades and are used in a wide variety of industrial applications.
DuPont? Crastin polyethylene terephthalate PBT resin is cost-effective, good rigidity, hardness, heat resistance and dimensional stability. Crastin also has excellent electrical insulating properties and surface gloss.
Crastin polyethylene terephthalate has excellent dimensional stability and is resistant to moisture (better than nylon) and high temperatures. These properties make them ideal for use in lighting bezels, connectors, relays, switches, distribution boxes and fiber optic cable housings.
DuPont? Crastin polyethylene terephthalate PBT resin has excellent flow, is easy to process in conventional injection molding machines, and provides low warpage, hydrolysis resistance, and blow molding and extrusion. Out of molding design specifications. DuPont material scientists also leverage Crastin’s properties to help customers achieve greater cost-efficiency without compromising performance.
DuPont? Crastin PBT is used in solenoid valves controlling water, air, steam and other gases. Water pumps, valves, and solenoids all require serious protection because they are often used in hot engines or other equipment.
Crastin can withstand temperatures as high as 150o and as low as -40oC while maintaining adhesion to copper wire during injection molding of solenoid valves. Production quality and heat resistance work together to produce efficient, high-quality, reliable components.
Crastin SF PBT products utilize technology to improve resin flow to levels:
Crastin SF can significantly reduce manufacturing costs
May increase productivity by 30%
Machine size reduction with lower fill pressure
Reduce the product thickness under standard molding conditions
Reduce energy consumption
Broaden the processing window
Reduce scrap rate
Improves mold fill flow for thinner or more complex parts compared to standard PBT grades
Crastin SF provides excellent characteristics: maintain good stress, strain and impact resistance, thermal stability, etc.
Crastin SF is a drop-in replacement for standard PBT grades
