LUBRICOMP WFP36
LNP™ LUBRICOMP WFP36 is a specialized compound developed by SABIC, featuring a polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resin as its base matrix, reinforced with 30% glass fiber and 15% polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)/silicone. This unique formulation imparts the compound with enhanced wear resistance properties, making it suitable for applications where components are subjected to friction, abrasion, and wear.
Key Features
- Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) Matrix: The PBT resin serves as the primary polymer matrix, providing excellent mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and chemical resistance to the compound.
- Glass Fiber Reinforcement: Incorporation of glass fibers enhances the mechanical properties of the compound, including stiffness, strength, and resistance to deformation under load, contributing to improved wear resistance.
- Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)/Silicone Lubrication: The addition of PTFE and silicone provides lubricating properties to the compound, reducing friction and wear between mating surfaces, thereby extending the service life of components and improving their performance.
- Wear Resistance: LNP™ LUBRICOMP WFP36 exhibits superior wear resistance due to the synergistic effects of glass fibers and PTFE/silicone lubrication, making it suitable for applications subjected to abrasive or sliding wear.
- Injection Molding: This grade is specifically formulated for processing by injection molding, enabling the efficient production of complex and precise components with consistent mechanical properties.
Applications
- Automotive Components: Used in automotive applications such as gears, bearings, bushings, and sliding components where wear resistance and dimensional stability are critical for long-term performance in harsh operating conditions.
- Industrial Machinery: Applied in various industrial machinery and equipment where components experience high levels of wear and friction, requiring materials with superior durability and resistance to abrasion.
- Electrical and Mechanical Components: Utilized in the manufacturing of electrical connectors, switches, housings, and mechanical parts where wear resistance and reliability are essential for ensuring long-term functionality.
- Consumer Products: Employed in consumer goods such as power tools, appliances, and sporting equipment, where components are subjected to frequent movement and contact, necessitating materials with excellent wear resistance and performance.
Processing Method: Injection Molding
