DuPont? Delrin? homopolyoxymethylene resin is a highly crystalline thermoplastic engineering plastic. It is the designated material for many industry leaders in high-load mechanical applications. It is widely used in gears, automotive seat belt systems, door systems, Conveyor belts, medical devices and components of different products in various industries.
Delrin? polyoxymethylene resin (full name Polyoxymethylene, abbreviated as POM) has excellent low friction and wear resistance, while also having the rigidity and strength of metal. It has a wide service temperature range (-40°C to 120°C), good colorability, excellent compatibility with metals and other polymers, and good dimensional stability for high-precision molding.
Delrin? 100 Series Performance
Mechanical properties
Delrin? 100 Acetal Homoseries resins have a higher molecular weight than other Acetal product lines. This hallmark feature of these high-performance acetal homopolymers, along with their naturally high degree of crystallinity, gives the material the following characteristics:
Toughness, high impact strength, high resistance to repeated impacts and high ductility without impact modification.
High mechanical strength and stiffness without the need for fillers/reinforcement or other modifications.
Outstanding creep resistance and long-term fatigue resistance.
At high viscosity These high mechanical strength and toughness characteristics can be obtained from the high viscosity Delrin? It is shown in the stress-strain curve. Delrin? 100 and 100P have very high tensile strength and strain to break, significantly higher than standard copolymers. These relative advantages can also be maintained at higher temperatures.
The following are the parameters of the United States-DuPont Plastics Delrin POM 100 physical properties table
