Amodel PPA outperforms standard polyamides with higher strength and stiffness at elevated temperatures, better retention in wet environments, and greater resistance to a wider range of chemicals.
Higher heat resistance
Amodel PPA is used to replace metals in high temperature automotive applications. The continuous use temperature range is 120°C to 185°C (248°F to 365°F). Heat deflection temperature (HDT) up to 310°C (590°F).
SOLVAY (SOLVAY) AMODEL AT-6130HS PPA is a 30% glass fiber reinforced, toughened grade PPA resin, which has more elongation than other 30% glass reinforced Amodel? resins. This The grade was developed specifically for automotive electronic connectors, which offer high flow and short molding cycles with a relatively wide processing window and mold temperatures as low as 150°F (65°C).
AMODEL AT-6130HS Main Features
Better chemical resistance
The highly aromatic ring structure of Amodel PPA provides resistance to a wider range of chemicals than standard aliphatic polyamides, even at elevated temperatures. This allows automotive, electrical and industrial components to be exposed to harsh chemicals for long periods of time:
Biodiesel fuel
brake fluid
Calcium chloride
ethylene glycol
Synthetic motor oil
Road salt
Sulfuric acid
Transmission fluid
Zinc chloride
Amodel PPA has industry wide ratings. Side-by-side comparisons of typical attributes provide a quick overview of performance capabilities.
Amodel PPA products are mainly based on three semi-aromatic semi-crystalline polyamide-based resins, each with different performance and processing characteristics.
Glass fibers, heat stabilizers, impact modifiers, minerals and other materials are compounded with these base resins to create a comprehensive selection of Amodel PPA products for a wide range of applications.
