Ultramid 8253
Ultramid® 8253 is an impact modified PA6 copolymer. Possesses good elastic properties, high dimensional stability, high creep strength and excellent sliding friction properties. Provides good toughness at low temperatures, high rigidity, flexibility, hardness, high mechanical strength, stiffness, thermal stability, high impact resistance, good processability, good damping characteristics and high shock resistance even in dry state and at low temperatures. Exhibits increased flexibility to meet higher impact performance compared to conventional unreinforced homopolymers. Shows outstanding resistance to chemicals, lubricants, fuels, hydraulic fluids and coolants, refrigerants, dyes, paints, cleaners, degreasing agents, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and many other solvents. Is resistant to corrosion, to aqueous solutions of salts and alkalis and to stress-crack formation compared to many amorphous plastics. Processed by injection molding and extrusion. Suitable for applications such as plugs, receptacles, flexible connector covers, weed trimmer components, clips, fasteners, flanges, key housings as well as many flexible tubing applications. Is compliant with RohS directive 2011/65/EC and WEEE directive 2002/96/EC.
