SOLVAY Ryton PPS R-7-120NA is a polyphenylene sulfide raw material with glass fiber and mineral filling natural color. It is characterized by 220°C/240°C UL RTI, arc resistance and low cost. Good dimensional stability, material advantages are weight reduction, hollow parts, smooth inner surface, lower manufacturing costs, applied to alternator components, motor brush holders, busbars, connectors, housings, ignition components, lead frames, motor components, rotation Transformers, sensors, switches.
During the molding process of Solvay Ryton PPS R-7-120NA, when the melt flows to the front end and gathers together in reverse, a weld line will be formed. Typically, the resin is richer at the weld line interface because glass fibers tend not to cross the interface. The mechanical strength along the weld line is low due to weak glass fiber reinforcement at the weld line. The gate location and fill pattern should be designed so that weld lines are eliminated as much as possible or placed in areas of least stress. If a weld line must be stressed, the part design should compensate for the typical weld line strength indicated below. Weld line strength is closely related to molding conditions, so part and tool design should allow for fast injection, fluid front temperature, and thorough coating. The phenomenon of air inclusion is very detrimental to the strength of the weld line. Therefore, care should be taken to avoid backflow when designing the mold, and to ensure that the area where the weld line may be formed is fully exhausted.
